Both Falmari and Inez embody the spirit of Vagabonde Adventures - freedom, discovery, and the thrill of world-class sailing. The Outremer 45 (Falmari) offers an intimate, hands-on sailing experience. She’s agile, efficient, and perfect for couples or small families seeking adventure and connection. She’s quick under sail, very easy to handle, and her shallow draft opens up anchorages that larger yachts can only admire from afar. The Outremer 52 (Inez), on the other hand, brings a touch more space, more comfort, and a layout designed for families or groups who want to stretch out. She’s fast, elegant, and ideal for those who love performance but also appreciate a little indulgence. Both come with a certified Vagabonde Adventures captain and the option to add a private chef for a five-star adventure afloat.
If you’re looking to do some training onboard, here are some more in-depth sailing details:
Outremer 45 ‘Falmari’
A real drawcard of the renowned Outremer 45 are the two bucket seats with carbon fiber tillers, which make this 48ft catamaran feel like a large Hobie cat. The boat is exceptionally easy to helm from the carbon fiber wheel too, so you can get a feel for both options. Adjustable daggerboards are what set performance oriented catamarans apart, and this is what allows us to sail impressive upwind angles.
Falmari has an easy to use sailing setup, with a square top mainsail and self tacking jib. For light winds we have a North Sails 3Di ‘Code 55’ sail which is a great, versatile reaching sail. Deeper downwind we have a beautiful yellow North Sails gennaker which is what allows us to effortlessly glide past other boats that have given up sailing and are motoring home. These sails combined with carbon upgrades (mast, bulkheads, bimini, dinghy), easy line handling, upgraded Harken electric winches and Harken furlers make sailing Falmari a dream.
Outremer 52 ‘Inez’
A new design from 2023, the Outremer 52 stepped things up a notch with interior volume and liveability. Inez is beautiful inside, but for sailors she has plenty to offer on deck too.
She has a long list of upgrades including carbon fiber mast, longeron and main bulkheads. She has an impressive sail wardrobe of 7 (SEVEN!) sails onboard including an Incidence DFi mainsail, genoa and staysail, Incidence D4 code zero, Incidence gennaker and symmetric spinnaker plus a North Sails asymmetric spinnaker. That means if you’re looking to experience just about any sail while onboard - she probably has it.
Inez is still easy to handle - and of course you can sail calm and easy, but it is nice to have the option to turn it up a notch if everyone is excited to.
Both catamarans are exceptionally stable and safe at sea, and this brings confidence to everyone onboard - whether sailing full speed or kicking back with a drink on the way to the next beautiful anchorage. We love these boats and we’re sure you will too.
