The Bahamas is known for crystal clear shallow waters, tricky tidal passes, and endless quiet bays to spend the night. The Abacos have beautiful little townships and fun beach bars to visit, amazing diving and fishing, and plenty of quiet beaches to just get away from it all. With many options for a week-long itinerary, you will be sure to enjoy sailing the Bahamas.

The sailing season in the Bahamas is from November through June. Average temperatures can be expected between 70 – 78°F (21 – 27°C) and favorable sailing winds blow from the East.

Abaco Islands

  • Sunday

Fly into Leonard Thompson Airport (MHH) in Marsh Harbor and join the yacht Sunday afternoon in the marina at Abaco Beach Resort. Your captain and chef will have the yacht provisioned and ready to sail when you arrive. You will talk through a plan for your week aboard and after a safety briefing, you can set sail to a nearby bay for your first night at anchor.

    Monday

Wake to the sounds of water lapping at the hull and dive into crystal clear water. Your chef will have breakfast prepared and you can relax into the first full day of life onboard. You can sail to Guana Cay to check out the famous Nippers and Grabbers beach bars. If you’re interested in a scuba dive excursion we can rendezvous with a dive company here.

    Tuesday

The snorkeling is incredible at nearby Fowl Cay. Here you can practice your free diving as you explore the numerous caves and tunnels around the coral heads. Man-O-War Cay is a fun spot to stretch your legs and check out the historic boat building capital of the islands.

    Wednesday

Explore the quaint township of Hope Town on Elbow Cay. Walk across to the Atlantic Ocean side of the island to explore a beautiful white sand beach. Firefly restaurant is the best spot to catch sunset with a sundowner. The evening can be spent on anchor nearby at Tahiti Beach, the perfect place to wake up.

    Thursday

Head south and enjoy lunch at the famously fun Pete’s Pub in Little Harbor. Check out the small artist community and the unique bronze sculptures fresh from the foundry. Sneak out of the harbor in the afternoon and spend the night at anchor by Lynard Cay.

    Friday

This morning you can snorkel the spectacular Sandy Cay coral reef or paddle board the shallow waters of Tilloo bank. Take it easy and lap up the sunshine before sailing back into the base marina for the evening. Enjoy dinner on shore and make plans for your next sailing trip!

    Saturday

Enjoy breakfast with the crew before departing the yacht at 10am.
